The Camp Arafah team strives to create a respectful, inclusive, and spiritually enriching environment for everyone. To ensure a positive experience for all, we ask that attendees adhere to the following code of conduct. By attending this camp, you agree to abide by these guidelines.

  • Respect and Courtesy: Treat all attendees, staff, and volunteers with respect and kindness. Offensive language, bullying, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.

  • Prayer: Participate in all scheduled prayers and respect the designated prayer times and spaces.

  • Dress Code: Attendees must ensure they pack hijab-friendly and modest attire in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

  • Punctuality: Be on time for all activities, sessions, and prayers. Punctuality reflects respect for the time and effort of others.

  • Gender Interaction: Maintain appropriate boundaries between genders. Interactions should be respectful and within the limits of Islamic etiquette. Respect the scheduled times and areas designated to brothers and sisters.

  • Safety First: Follow all safety guidelines and instructions from camp staff. Report any safety concerns immediately.

  • Technology Use: Use electronic devices responsibly. Limit screen time to ensure full participation in camp activities.

There is a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for any violations of the Code of Conduct and you will be removed from the retreat center at your own expense. If you are not in agreement with the Code of Conduct, kindly please inform an organizer and swiftly depart the retreat. There will be no refunds for individuals removed from the camp due to violations of the Code of Conduct.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Dorm guidelines

Dorm Leads: Each dorm has 2-3 leads. Please go to them for all immediate needs or concerns. They are not counselors, but volunteers, so they should not have to correct any behavior -- but they may escalate to an organizer if needed.

  • Respect Quiet Hours: Be mindful of other brothers and sisters by observing designated quiet hours. Please note that 12 am is lights out!

  • Keep Common Areas Clean: Help maintain a clean environment for everyone by picking up after yourself.

  • Respect Property: Treat the facilities with care and respect to ensure a pleasant stay for everyone.

  • Part of the Shia Spirit is cleanliness. Before you depart, please remove all trash from bedrooms and take it to the dumpster. Dumpster is located in the parking lot within the wooden fence. Turn off all lights and close windows. Return all recreation equipment to the green bin on the Sport Court OR ball racks in the Gym.
